| WHAT TO DO AT THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT Some basic procedures to follow 1. Do not enter the accident scene until you are certain that it is safe. 2. Switch your hazard lights on and park your vehicle away from any approaching traffic. 3. Be conscious of any chemical spillage's or the danger of fire. 4. If possible put on florescent clothing. 5. Place warning triangles on the road, as far away as possible, to warn traffic of the obstruction. CALL THE EMERGENCY SERVICES Emergency phones are every mile on a motorway, and signs to the nearest one are every 100 metres 1. Dial 999 and advise the operator of the service\s you require(Fire,Ambulance Etc.) 2. Describe the exact location of the accident and landmarks, if any. 3. Advise of the nature and seriousness of the accident. |
